Database Development

Database development is an important and ongoing need for any business, especially if you desire a dynamic Web site. Since 1999, MediaVue has provided database design and development services of new or existing systems. Our team of developers have experience with a variety of database. With MediaVue's database development services you will not have the worry of deciding which database technologies you should use. After a consultation period we will do that for you. Furthermore, you will be involved in the database development process every step of the way.

Please contact us for more information about how we can help your company today with our database development services.

Database Development Company

Mediavue was founded in 1999 as a niche consulting firm focusing on the revitalization of corporate web integration. Specializing in the database issues that surround the South Florida corporate community as well as the public sector, the firm is staffed with consultants with experience in various aspects of the data and process management.

The firm has served national and Florida client base and is organized by industry as a means of focusing on the data issues that are unique to each commercial and public sector. Each industry practice is headed by a manager knowledgeable in common data issues and sources based on hands-on experience in various data-specific roles throughout the industry.

Unlike many development and consulting service firms, we consider the requirements of the organization within every project. Specifically, each data focused effort considers the impact on all relevant and related data sources and recipients in order to prevent continued data conflict. All projects begin with an initial assessment of the current environment as a means to scope the effort and developing a customized detailed database development plan.

This plan then serves as the detailed agreement between the client and Database Development Services in that it itemizes all project tasks, assigned resources and timeframes, and resulting deliverables. We are a big believer in knowledge transfer and require the presence of at least one client resource on all projects. MediaVue approaches all projects from a metadata-centric approach. Because metadata (those characteristics and values which allow us to locate, understand, access, and trace our information) is already everywhere, it is essential that all data revitalization efforts also include a revitalization of the associated metadata.

Aside from the data-specific deliverables that perpetuate all consulting assignments, MediaVue believes that revitalized data is useless if its potential beneficiaries have no easy way of identifying, deciphering, locating, or accessing it. Data is created from the beginning of a project and in most cases is already in existence, but not necessarily organized so that it can be used optimally. As such all projects result in a set of accessible metadata which reflects the interests and needs of all database development beneficiaries.

Access Database Development

Are you running a small business and only need a database that supports a few users? Then you might want to choose a MS Access database solution.

What is MS Access?
MS Access (Microsoft Access) is a small database that comes pre-installed on almost every computer running the Microsoft office suit. For a reasonable price, MediaVue can save you the time and hassle of having to learn a new program. We will sit down with you, discuss your needs and develop a proper MS Access database solution.

From an industry observer's point of view, Microsoft Access is a potent symbol of many of the things that have made Microsoft despised, feared, and enormously successful: determination, persistence, nearly unlimited resources, disregard for backward compatibility, contempt for open standards, fragmented design, lack of quality assurance and software engineering, and, of course, the ability to leverage its software suites, massive bankroll, and control of the operating system platform to out-market, outmaneuver, outlast or simply gobble up the competition. But from a purchaser's point of view, Access is mostly a symbol of Microsoft's unilateral decision to ship its gigantic powerful complex software products with virtually no printed documentation at all.

Consequently, the would-be Access developer's first act is typically to run down to the nearest technical bookstore and try to find something that explains how the darn thing works. Unfortunately, the third-party market for Microsoft Access books is split between simple beginner-oriented books that teach users how to design forms and reports using the built-in wizards and controls, and recycled Visual Basic books that describe Access as a sort of Visual Basic clone with some grafted-on database function calls.

There has been, until now, a conspicuous absence of books that approach Access from a database analyst and developer's point of view -- books that explain how Access implements relational database concepts, its data definition language, its object model (such as it is), and its degree of compliance with ANSI standard SQL.

To understand Access we would start with a discussion of entity-object relationships, keys and super-keys, and normal forms, then goes on to introduce relational algebra, query languages, and SQL. A brief diversion into Visual Basic for Applications and its relationship to the Jet Database Engine is necessary followed by a fairly extensive explanation of Access's family of objects, collections, and properties -- always one of Access's most confusing and least stable characteristics.

Custom Database Development

Once we have designed your custom database, MediaVue will begin development. Custom database development need not be expensive. We understand that budgets are limited for information technology in these trying economic times. Therefore, MediaVue focuses on rapid, efficient and flexible database development. We retain the best programmers, use the latest database technologies and languages, and stay in close contact with our clients. We pride ourselves in giving our clients exactly what they want how they want it.

We specialize in completing custom database development in the following areas: Customer Relations Management, ecommerce shopping carts, memberships directories, online training and testing procedures, forms capture to database, improved resources recovery, Content Management Systems (CMS) and hundreds more.

Web Database Development

Web databases are increasingly used for Internet development and management because of their global accessibility. With the multitude of database technologies available, it is not difficult to select the right database for your project.

MediaVue will help you select the right database technology and develop your database application. The selection of the database technology will depend on the nature and size of your needs. Large databases that run over the Internet will require different technologies and applications than small databases that run over a company intranet.

MediaVue has strong experience in a wide range of database products and programming languages, which include: ASP, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft Access and more. See the technology we use  now.
